Tim is the project leader on two projects running in Solomon Islands for the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).

The first project, "Enhancing economic opportunities offered by community and smallholder forestry in the Solomon Islands" started in 2013 and will run until the end of 2017. The project covers a range of research and educational objectives looking at issues affecting smallholder timber growers and the communities they live in.

The second project " Improving returns from community teak plantings in Solomon Islands" is focussed on enabling growers to gain access to international markets for their teak. This project started in June 2015 and will run until 2019.

Tim is also the Chief Pilot under the conditions of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator's Certificate that was granted to the Environmental Futures Research Institute in December 2015.
