Current Supervision:
1 PhD Candidate - Laura ALBERTO. Sepsis early identification in adult acute care hospital wards. Commenced mid-2015, due for completion 2019. Professors’ Leanne Aitken & Andrea Marshall (Primary supervisors), Dr Rachel Walker (Associate supervisor).

Prior Supervision:
PhD: Azlina DAUD. Replacement of administration sets for peripheral arterial catheters, days versus 7 days: feasibility randomized controlled trial. Completed 2014.
Masters: Bernadette WATSON. What is the efficacy of a social media site in supporting students’ confidence in developing clinical capability? Completed 2014.
Honours: Hui Min (Isabel) WANG. How well do the peri-operative practitioners implement pressure injury prevention guidelines? A pilot observational study. Completed 2017.

Background

Bio

Substantive areas of research: skin integrity (including pressure injury prevention and treatment and acute and chronic wounds), vascular access, symptom management (patient clinical deterioration) and electronic health systems.

Methodology expertise: quantitative methods (survey, RCT, meta-analysis), qualitative (observational, focus), knowledge translation and systematic Reviews (Cochrane).
