Current Work

I use ultra-fast and ultra-short light pulses and interact them with matter to investigate their highly non-linear interaction. The light pulses are only a few millionth billionth of a second in duration and we can use them to create new forms of X-rays, understand how electrons move around atoms and molecules to even attempting to create a nuclear transition using light. We have Australia's most sophisticated laser system in my laboratory which we call the Australian Attosecond Science Facility which we sometimes call Australia's fastest camera. I am currently taking on PhD students please contact me for details. |
