Research by Higher Degree Supervision or Scholarship

Theses Supervised at Griffith

Background

Bio

Kieran researches the law, technology and future. He is particularly interested in the law and culture of digital and autonomous disruption. His current projects focus on the posthuman legal subject, cultural and legal responses to autonomy and anticipating law’s digital future.

Kieran has completed projects that have examined the interconnected relations of law and technology. He has written on the way that science fiction embodies a jurisprudence of technology; how media frames law-making on technology, how law is intertwined with cultures of automobility and critical investigation of the institutions that reform law in response to technological change.

Kieran is proud of his record as a supervisor with his honours and PhD students actively contributing to their scholarly fields and going on to positions in academia, the legal profession and government.

Kieran has over sixteen years of experience teaching undergraduate law courses ranging from jurisprudence, civil procedure, law and culture, administrative law and clinical legal education. He has also held editorial positions at the Griffith Law Review: Law Theory Society (Managing Editor); Social Security Reporter (Academic Editor) and Law, Culture and Humanities (Editorial Advisory Board).
