Current Work
| Professor Hong Guan is a Professor of Structural Engineering at Griffith University Gold Coast Campus. She holds a PhD in the field of Structural Mechanics, a MEng in Structural Engineering and a double Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering. Professor Guan conducts research predominately in the following areas: (1) progressive collapse mechanisms of frame and flat plate structures; (2) bridge deterioration modelling and intelligent system for Level-2 bridge condition inspections; (3) failure analysis of planar continuum structures with and without openings; (4) cracking and punching shear failure analyses in flat slab systems; (5) application of finite element method in dental implant research. She also teaches within the Griffith School of Engineering in areas such as Engineering Mechanics, Structural Analysis and Advanced Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete. |
