TEACHING INTERESTS

I'm passionate about our need to better understand the human experience of vulnerability, injustice, and displacement. My teaching helps students to develop critical thinking and empathy, so that we can develop more resilient and inclusive communities. I currently teach undergraduate courses on 'Migration and Settlement', 'Conflict and Forced Displacement' - challenging students to find fresh solutions to some of the world's most challenging contemporary issues. I am an experienced supervisor of higher degrees by research, and have supervised more than a dozen candidates to successful completion. I welcome applications from potential students to work with me for Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees. My candidates explore topics related to interculturality, memory, and heritage.
