Dr Dilani Mendis (PhD, BPhty(HonsI), BSc) is a Lecturer at Griffith University, Nathan Campus and a Physiotherapist at Mater Hospital Brisbane. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate education at The University of Queensland and has clinical experience in the areas of musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, cardiorespiratory and neurological physiotherapy in hospital and private practice settings. Her current research areas of interest are sports injury prevention and assessment and rehabilitation of lumbopelvic muscle function in people with hip and low back pain. Her research expertise and skills include ultrasound imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, muscle strength testing, motor control training exercise therapy, and assessment of balance and vestibular function. Dilani’s research is published in 26 peer-reviewed journal articles including top ranking journals in the field of Sports Science and she has been awarded $1.2 million in competitive and industry research funding. She has presented at 14 national and 4 international conferences including invited speaker presentations, as well as presented workshops and seminars for industry.
