Heather aim is to facilitate, not preach, by exemplifying, discussing, reflecting and interacting with her students to broaden their understanding of management. In the online environment, she achieves this through creating a supportive environment where her students by developing and supporting a sense of connection to one another which enables a safe environment to share and discuss ideas with each other. Although this can be challenging, in the online environment it is important to enhance and promote “active learning” opportunities (Pelley 2014) so students can engage in discussion through her collaborative approach.
