Dr Ed Morgan is a Research Fellow at the Cities Research Institute, Griffith University. He is working with the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Water Sensitive Cities and the Griffith Climate Change Response Program (GCCRP). His research studies the interface between research and environmental governance, with a focus on water and climate change. His recent work for the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities explored how research can support the integration of land use planning and water resource management. His work for the Griffith Climate Change Response Program is investigating the role of land use planning in forest conservation and ecosystem-based climate adaptation. He is currently helping to develop a project to investigate and assess the efficacy of water sensitive urban design (WSUD) features. His PhD investigated the use of science in water management, policy and planning in the Southeast Queensland region. The project drew insights into the science-policy interface and the use of knowledge and co-learning in sustainability, environmental governance and natural resource management. He is interested in taking an interdisciplinary approach to issues of sustainability, natural resource management and environmental governance, and particularly the role of knowledge can play in confronting environmental challenges.
