I am a Senior Lecturer in Corporations Law at Griffith University. I have more than 10 years’ experience as a legal practitioner within a national firm (Hopgood Ganim Lawyers: 2002-2005), boutique employment law firm (HR Law: 2007-2011), and dental groups (Coastal Dental Care and Dental Services Network: 2017-2019), advising on corporate and employment issues in various jurisdictions. Since 2008, I have delivered teaching modules in Company Law, Law of Business Structures, Consumer Protection Law, Contract Law, Tort of Negligence, Workplace Law, Laws in Financial Planning and Professional Skills to undergraduate and postgraduate business students. In addition to my teaching duties, I have served as a Program Director within the Griffith Business School (2008-2011) and as a coordinator of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs in Economics, Accounting and Financial Planning (2008-2012). In terms of research, I have 33 refereed publications in the labour law, higher education law, teaching and work-integrated learning (WIL) fields on topics including: labour regulation, risk management in WIL programs; generic skills development and self-efficacy of business students; the impact of flipped and blended learning environments; and corporate villainy and storytelling. My expertise in teaching and professional skills development has been recognised by three national industry and higher education awards, and more than 10 university learning and teaching awards and grants.
