BIO

Associate Professor Dr Saras Henderson is an academic and researcher at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University. Saras was previously the Program Director Health Professional Education and currently is Director of BN Honours and Program Advisor for Applied Learning and Teaching for Health Professionals. Saras is the Deputy Chair of Griffith University Human Research Ethics Committee. Associate Professor Henderson has successfully obtained grants to develop best practice in clinical education and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) research and possess extant knowledge in promoting learning and scholarship in clinical practice. She has won two excellence in teaching awards. She is very interested in how students are motivated and become effective adult learners especially students from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. Associate Professor Henderson has expertise in acute hospital and community nursing and her research includes culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities including refugees and health service delivery. She has successfully supervised PhD, Masters and Honours students and has expertise in qualitative research methods. Saras has a National and International reputation in CALD research through her work in this area, several conference presentations and publications.
