Associate Professor Karine Dupré is a French registered architect and urban designer, affiliate to the Planning Institute of Australia. Prior to joining the program at Griffith, she taught and conducted research at the Strasbourg National Institute of Applied Sciences (France, 2006/2012) and at the Urban Planning & Design Institute of Tampere University of Technology (Finland, 2000/2005). She was also the Head of Architecture at INSA (2007-2011) and Griffith Architecture (2016-2017). She is currently Program Director at Griffith Architecture and HDR convenor for the Engineering and Built Environment School. Enthusiast about cross-disciplinary approaches and partnerships, she particularly developed and strengthened these aspects as a researcher and teacher. She mostly teaches architecture and urban design studio, history and WIL courses. Research interests include cities & tourism, placemaking & tactical urbanism, regional development, urban development & sustainability, building heritage & identity, architecture and engineer education. She is an expert in outback community planning and development.
