Max Grömping received his doctoral degree in 2017 from the University of Sydney. He studies how citizens organize to effect political change and under which conditions they are successful. His key research areas are interest representation and advocacy, political participation, political communication, comparative authoritarianism, electoral integrity, and media politics. Previously, he worked as Lecturer at Heidelberg University (Germany), Research Associate at the Electoral Integrity Project, University of Sydney (Australia), Research Officer with the ARC-funded project Organised interests in Australian Public Policy, Australian National University (Australia), and teaching expert in International Relations at Thammasat University (Thailand). He has also been visiting Research Fellow at the Social Science Center Berlin (WZB) in 2016/17. Max's work is published in Political Communication, Governance, Party Politics, and the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties, among others.
