BIO

I am an engineer and researcher committed to a more sustainble built environment. I achieved my undergraduate ticket with an Honours double degree in Engineering and Science at the University of Melbourne. I gained professional experience in automotive manufacturing, HVAC consulting and in the biotechnology industry before joining Umow Lai Consulting Engineers (now part of Integral Group), where I worked as a sustainability engineer for 11 years. As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, I led sustainability services on multiple small and large scale building projects specialising in energy efficient design and data management. I also undertook research into biomimetic building facades at the University of Melbourne and obtained a PhD in Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture. I continue researching biomimicry and biophilia and their application to the built environment. Additionally, I continue to research sustainable building services and emerging energy generation and management technology and services. I have broad project management skills and look for new opportunities to apply innovative solutions in the built environment to improve humanity's relationship with the natural world.
