Professor McGaughey's research in International Business is at the intersection of strategy and entrepreneurship, and explores several themes related to knowledge and innovation, international new venturing, organisation and multinational enterprise. - Prior to joining Griffith Business School in July 2012, Sara was a Professor and Director of Strathclyde International Business Unit (SIBU) at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, and has held tenured positions at University of Leeds (UK), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), and University of New South Wales (Australia). Sara currently serves as Preseident of the Academy of International Business Australia-New Zealand Chapter (AIB-ANZ). She is an editor for Prometheus: Critical Studies in Innovation, and is an editorial board member of Journal of World Business and Management International Review. -In a life before academe, Professor McGaughey worked in small businesses in Japan and Mexico, with this experience continuing to inform both her research and teaching.
