Renee Jeffery is a Professor of International Relations in the School of Government and International Relations and the Griffith Asia Institute. She is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow (2020-2024) and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA). Her research focuses on issues related to conflict, justice, and human rights in the Asia-Pacific. She has conducted fieldwork in and/or published on the specific cases of Cambodia, Nepal, Aceh, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea (Bougainville), the Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Japan, China, the Philippines, and Taiwan, with current projects taking her to Sri Lanka and Myanmar in the near future. Since 2009 she has been awarded five Australian Research Council Grants, including a Future Fellowship (2020-2024) for a project on 'National Human Rights Institutions and Transitional Justice in Asia'. She is currently the co-editor of the Australian Journal of Political Science and, from 2020, a senior editor of the Journal of Global Security Studies. She has published 8 books and over 40 articles and chapters. Her ninth book, Negotiating Peace: Amnesties, Justice, and Human Rights will be published by Cambridge University Press in 2021.
