BIO

Greer Johnson is a Professor in Education at Griffith University. She is Director of the Griffith Institute for Educational Research and Convenor for the Area of Strategic Investment (Education). Her research is focused primarily on leadership for learning. She is involved in Australian federal, state and territory governments working with principals in primary and secondary schools to improve children’s literacy outcomes, especially in disadvantaged circumstances. Recently she led completed Principals as Literacy Leaders with Indigenous Communities research and development project, in association with the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA). Additionally, she has completed ARC Discovery projects on examining the issues associated with school-to-work/further study transitions for at-risk students and another international project on the learning needs of older workers.
