Lynne Weathered is a Lecturer with the Griffith Law School, Gold Coast campus and co-founder and the Director of the Innocence Project, which aims to assist wrongfully convicted people in Queensland and across Australia. The Project achieved a milestone in innocence activity reform in August 2010 through the Attorney-General's introduction of DNA innocence testing guidelines into Queensland's criminal justice system.Lynne was a Board member of the International Innocence Network from 2006 - 2015 and remains on the International Committee of the Innocence Network, following her term as the inaugural Chair and Co-Chair of that Committee. She is Executive Director of the Australian Innocence Network. Her work includes lobbying for law reform in Australia, in particular regarding the better identification and correction of wrongful conviction. Her research covers many aspects of wrongful conviction and innocence project work in Australia and internationally. She has also spoken on this topic nationally and internationally in a variety of forums including conferences in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. Lynne is about to undertake a PhD on wrongful conviction with the Griffith Law School.
